Kire Godal

Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Producer

Kire Godal, based in Kenya for 26 years, directs, shoots and writes. Her remote field work documents Africa’s people, wildlife and environments interacting together in a changing world. She made the first Maa speaking films on Maasai warrior lion hunting and dozens of human wildlife and ethnographic films in Africa that educate, motivate and delight audiences by creating a window into a world they would never have known or seen otherwise. Her films appear on National Geographic, BBC, Discovery, Amazon Prime, France 5, & museums. Kire is a Fellow of the Explorers Club.


Joel Kanchori

Producer, Maasai Field Producer & Maa Translations

Maasai filmmaker Joel Kanchori documents his people’s culture, wildlife, and environment as they interact in a changing world. His projects focus on preserving pride in Maasai cultural identity in a modernising world.

Since 2010 Director & Cinematographer Kire Godal and Joel created the first Maa-speaking films on Maasai warrior lion hunting, as well as documentaries on human-wildlife interactions that educate, motivate change, and inspire communities.

Their films appear on National Geographic, BBC, Discovery, Amazon Prime, France 5, in museums, and exhibitions worldwide and are widely shared and distributed through remote communities.


Carol Beckwith & Angela Fisher

Producers & Still Photography

Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher have been photographing the rituals and ceremonies of Africa for over 45 years, travelling to 40 African countries and visiting more than 150 ethnic groups. They are among the most famous photographers in the field of African cultural traditions. They have produced 17 large format books and their photographs have been published in international magazines such as National Geographic and can be seen in exhibitions in museums and galleries worldwide. Angela and Carol are both Fellows of the Explorers Club.


Lucy Gakii Chodota

Producer

Lucy Chodota is an acclaimed African filmmaker. Born in Tanzania and raised in Kenya, she refined her craft in the Netherlands for nearly two decades before returning to Kenya to make significant contributions to the entertainment industry. Lucy’s diverse portfolio spans documentaries, drama series, and feature films.
